BAADS

SBYC is the Host Yacht Club for the

Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors.

The SBYC Clubhouse serves as a venue for BAADS special events, as well as a place for BAADS members and guests to socialize after sailing sessions.

SBYC and BAADS maintain a close organizational relationship through reciprocal activity.
A BAADS member serves on the SBYCBoard and an SBYC member serves on the BAADS Board. SBYC provides Regatta Management assistance to BAADS in the form of human resources for Race Committee, as well as On the Water Assets for conducting the races and to provide safety coverage. In turn, BAADS resources are used by SBYC for programs like the SBYC Junior Sailing Program. SBYC provides financial support by assisting BAADS with direct fundraising activities, and by conducting special fundraising events at the SBYC Clubhouse for the benefit of BAADS.

BAADS members are obligated to observe the same rules and regulations as SBYC members, as outlined in the SBYC Club Operating Procedures dated February 2, 2012, especially Rule C “Club Access” BAADS and SBYC work cooperatively with key community partners, including specifically the Port and Harbor Management to expand dock facilities and storage on Pier 40 to address the successful growth of the programs of both organizations which provide access to Bay sailing and sail training to Bay Area people of all ages and abilities.
